What Happens in the Story?
The story is about a young boy named Norvin. He looks a bit like a shark. Norvin decides to make a fake dorsal fin out of plastic. He uses this fin to scare people away from the water. This happens at a place called Caramel Cove.
For several days, everyone stays out of the water. They are all scared of the "shark." But Norvin's plan does not work out as he hoped. A real female shark sees him. She thinks Norvin is a real shark and wants to marry him!
The shark tells Norvin that she will get very angry and bite him if he does not marry her. Norvin gets very scared. He swims away as fast as he can to save himself. When Norvin finally gets out of the water, he is shaking. Everyone then realizes he was never a real shark.
The swimmers quickly put up a net. This net is meant to stop the actual shark from coming into Caramel Cove. But Norvin is now too scared to ever go into the water again.
