The Gumazing Gum Girl! is a fun chapter book series for kids. It's sometimes just called Gum Girl!. The series was created by Rhode Montijo, and sometimes Luke Reynolds helps write the books too. The first book came out on August 20, 2013.

The stories are all about a young girl named Gabby Gomez. She absolutely loves chewing and blowing bubblegum all the time!

What's the Story About?

The series follows Gabby Gomez, a girl who is obsessed with gum. She accidentally turns into a sticky, stretchy superhero named Gum Girl! This happens after she blows a super-duper big bubble and gets shocked by electricity.

Gabby has to keep her superhero identity a secret from her parents. As Gum Girl, she uses her amazing powers to fight bad guys. Some of the villains she faces include Robo-Chef and Mr. Hansen.

Meet the Characters

Here are some of the main characters you'll meet in the Gumazing Gum Girl! series:

• Gabriella "Gabby" Gomez / Gum Girl is the main character. She loves gum, even though her parents and teachers tell her not to chew it. After her accident, she becomes Gum Girl! Her whole body turns into chewing gum, which lets her stretch super far. She usually wears a pink dress and a pink bow.
• Rico Gomez is Gabby's brother. He's a big fan of superheroes like Gum Girl and Ninja-Rina.
• Mrs. Gomez is Gabby's mom. She often tells Gabby off for chewing gum.
• Dr. Gomez is Gabby's dad. He's a dentist and owns his own office called Gomez Dental.
• Ms. Smoot is Gabby's teacher at Fillmore Elementary School. She really dislikes it when students are late.
• Mr. Hansen was Gabby's substitute teacher. He turns out to be a monster that looks like a hamster!
• Natalie Gooch is a girl who used to bully Gabby. But later, she becomes Gabby's friend! She can also be part of a group called The Cocodrilos.
• Ravi Rodriguez is a young boy who becomes a news reporter.
• Ninja-Rina is another hero in the series. She's a masked ballerina who has amazing ninja skills. She knows different martial arts and even crafts!
• Ninja-Rina's mother helps out in one of the stories.
• Sol Azteca is a famous wrestler, known as a luchador. He is Gabby's uncle.
• Yee is a police chief who helps Gum Girl and Ninja-Rina.
• Robo-Chef is a pastry chef who hates gum. He's one of the bad guys in the series.
• The Underhander is a well-known luchador who tries to steal a special item called the Jade Jaguar. He's also a villain.
• The Everhander was Sol Azteca's host.
• Ikal the Quetzal is Sol Azteca's pet bird, a beautiful Quetzal.
• Miguel, Alma, Lucas, and Litza are also known as The Jaguares. They are students of Sol Azteca.
• The Cocodrilos are The Underhander's helpers.
• The Escaped Monkeys are funny characters who appear in the series. They are monkeys with spatulas who escape from the zoo after Gum Girl defeats Robo-Chef.
