The Story of The Last Wolf
This book tells a wonderful story that connects the past with the present. It follows two main characters, Miya and her grandfather, Michael McLeod. They discover an amazing family secret from long ago.
A Family Mystery Uncovered
The story begins with Miya helping her grandfather, Michael, learn about computers. Michael gets a brilliant idea. He wants to use the computer to find out about their family's history. He hopes to trace their ancestors all the way back to the 1700s. While they are searching, they find an old story. It was written by their great-great-great-great-great grandfather!
Robbie's Escape and a New Friend
The old story is about this ancestor, Robbie McLeod. He writes about his childhood. Robbie had a very difficult time after his parents passed away. He was looked after by his uncle, but it was not a happy situation. To escape, young Robbie ran away into the deep woods.
There, he found a tiny male wolf pup. The pup was also alone, just like Robbie. Robbie decided to take care of the little wolf. He gave him the name Charlie. A few days later, Robbie and Charlie started a big journey. They hoped to find a better life in America.
Adventures in a New Land
When they arrived in America, things were not as easy as they hoped. There was a big war happening between the redcoats and the rebels. Robbie and Charlie faced many dangerous situations. They had to be very brave to survive.
Growing Up and Letting Go
As the years went by, Charlie, the wolf, naturally became wilder. He was growing up and becoming more like a true wild animal. Robbie noticed this change in Charlie. It was a hard decision, but Robbie knew he had to let his friend go free.
Robbie then built a farm next to a lake. He would sometimes see Charlie nearby. A few years later, Robbie got married. He and his wife had a son named Alan. The very last time Robbie saw Charlie, the wolf had also started his own family.
Following the Footsteps
After Miya and her grandfather read this amazing story, they felt inspired. They decided to travel to America themselves. They wanted to see the places where Robbie and Charlie had lived. It was a way to connect with their family's past.
