The Michigan FrontPage is a newspaper published every week. It's made for the African-American community in Detroit, Michigan. It started in 2000. A person who used to run another newspaper, the Michigan Chronicle, created it. Later, in 2003, the company that owns the Michigan Chronicle, called Real Times Inc., bought The Michigan FrontPage. Its main office is in Detroit, where Real Times Inc. is located.

About The Michigan FrontPage

The Michigan FrontPage is a special newspaper. It comes out every week, usually on Fridays. It's designed to be a "weekend read." This means it's perfect for people to enjoy over the weekend.

What Makes It Special?

Real Times Inc. describes The Michigan FrontPage as a modern, magazine-style newspaper. It aims to show a positive and forward-thinking image of city life. It also focuses on the lifestyle of people living in urban areas.

How The Newspaper Started

The story of The Michigan FrontPage began in 2000. Before that, a man named John H. Sengstacke owned two important newspapers: Chicago Defender and the Michigan Chronicle. He passed away in 1997.

A New Beginning

After Mr. Sengstacke's death, there was some uncertainty about who would own the Michigan Chronicle. Because of this, Sam Logan, who had been the publisher of the Chronicle for a long time, left the paper in 2000. In May of that year, he decided to start his own weekly newspaper. This new paper was The Michigan FrontPage.

Joining Real Times Inc.

In 2003, the newspapers owned by the Sengstacke family were sold. They were bought by Real Times Inc. This group was made up of African-American business leaders from Chicago and Detroit. Sam Logan was part of this group. After the sale, Logan returned as the publisher for both the Michigan Chronicle and The Michigan FrontPage. This made The Michigan FrontPage a part of the Real Times Inc. family.

Leadership Changes

Sam Logan, the founder and publisher, passed away in late December 2011. After his passing, Hiram Jackson took over. Hiram Jackson was the president of Real Times Inc. He became the temporary publisher for the newspapers.
