What Happens in The Poof Point?
A Time Machine Goes Wrong
The story is about two scientists, Norton (played by Mark Curry) and Marigold Ballard (played by Dawnn Lewis). They are 40 years old and have invented a time machine! They try to send two goldfish back to the 1860s as a test.
But their dog, Einstein, accidentally messes with the machine. A very important part called the "vector modulator" falls out. This makes the machine not work right. Instead of sending the goldfish back in time, it makes them "de-age." This means they get younger and younger until they disappear, which is called the "Poof Point."
Parents Get Younger
Norton and Marigold don't know about the broken part. They leave to go to their kids' graduation. Their children, Eddie (played by Tahj Mowry) and Marie (played by Raquel Lee), feel a bit embarrassed by their parents. Eddie also wants to join a band called the Urban Slugs. He has an audition for them at his house later.
The scientists decide to try the goldfish experiment again. But this time, the machine's beam accidentally hits them! Eddie and Marie come home and find their parents acting very strange. Norton and Marigold now think they are 21 years old. They believe it's the 1980s, when they were in college designing the time machine.
Teenagers and Trouble
Norton and Marigold soon realize the machine made them younger. They try to fix it. But then they get even younger, turning into 14-year-olds! At this age, they didn't know about the time machine yet. They also weren't in love.
They start talking to Eddie and Marie about being teenagers. Then, they wander off from home. At a diner, Marigold tells a girl named Chloe that the Urban Slugs are playing at Eddie's house. Chloe is known for spreading rumors. She thinks it's a big party, not just an audition. So, Chloe invites lots of kids over.
The Race to Save Their Parents
Eddie and Marie try to manage the big party. They also figure out that the "vector modulator" is missing from the time machine. Their parents keep getting younger. Soon, Norton and Marigold are acting and dressing like 7-year-olds!
The party ends when neighbors complain to the police about the noise. Time is running out for Eddie and Marie. They need to find the missing part and turn on the machine. If they don't, their parents will disappear forever!
The situation gets even harder when Norton and Marigold become 2-year-olds. They make messes, run away, and try to avoid going into the machine. Finally, the kids find the missing "vector modulator." They get their parents into the machine just as they are about to "poof" away. They save them!
After this adventure, Eddie and Marie learn that their parents were once just like them. They start to understand and bond with their parents more.
