The Story of Daran: A Magical Adventure
This section tells you all about the amazing journey in The Seven of Daran.
Jimmy's Unexpected Mission
The story begins with 11-year-old Jimmy Westwood, played by Johann Harmse, living in South Africa with his mom. One day, a girl named Charita, played by Ketrice Maitisa, cleans their car windows without being asked. She doesn't get paid, so she decides to get even by taking Jimmy's wallet!
Jimmy chases Charita to a busy market. There, something incredible happens. A small, white giraffe is being sold at an auction. This isn't just any giraffe; it can talk! The giraffe tells Jimmy he must stop a big fight between two groups of people, called tribes: the Bombattas and the Saladir. It also gives Jimmy a special, glowing pendant.
Jimmy helps the giraffe escape. He and Charita run away, but the giraffe's owner, who hadn't finished selling it, chases them. Soon, the police catch them and lock them up. While they are in the cell, Charita gives Jimmy his wallet back, but she keeps some money for cleaning the car. Even after all this, they become good friends.
A Mother's Discovery and a New Friend
Jimmy's mom comes to get him from the police station. Later, the mother of their house helper tells Jimmy something important about the giraffe. She explains that it is one of the "seven of Daran." These are magical animals, and each one protects a different continent. This makes Jimmy believe he really needs to follow the giraffe's instructions.
Jimmy leaves a note for his mom, saying he's going on a special mission. He then helps Charita get out of the police cell. Together, they head towards the area where the conflict is about to happen, hoping to stop the war.
Facing Challenges and Finding Allies
As they get closer, a young person from the Bombatta tribe, who is part of their fighting group, shoots Jimmy in the leg. Even though they are from different tribes, Jimmy, Charita, and this young person become friends.
Soon, the giraffe's owner finds them and takes them in his car. He wants them to help him find the giraffe or other similar magical animals. Meanwhile, Jimmy's mom has figured out where he went. She arrives in a helicopter to look for him. She spots Jimmy in the car, and the helicopter pilot helps free the three children.
Jimmy learns a surprising truth from his mom. She explains that she caused the problems between the tribes. She wanted to build a golf course on land that one tribe considered very important and sacred. One tribe wanted the golf course for money, but the other tribe strongly disagreed because of the land's special meaning.
Stopping the Conflict and Making Peace
Jimmy's mom doesn't want him to try and stop the conflict. But Jimmy, who learned to fly from a flight simulator game on his computer, secretly gets into the helicopter with Charita and their new friend. Jimmy flies the helicopter towards the conflict zone. His mom also arrives there later.
During the intense situation, Jimmy is hit by a bullet. But thanks to the magical pendant, he is saved! The bullet hits the pendant instead of him. Seeing everything that has happened, Jimmy's mom agrees to cancel her plans for the golf course. With this decision, the two tribes finally make peace and become friends again.
