The Story of The Stray Dog

What Happens in the Book?

One sunny day, a family of four goes for a picnic in the park. While they are enjoying their meal, they meet a friendly stray dog. The two children in the family quickly fall in love with the dog. They decide to name him Willy.

The kids ask their parents if they can take Willy home with them. But their parents say no, which makes the children very sad. Even though they couldn't keep him, every member of the family keeps thinking about Willy all week long.

When Saturday arrives, the family decides to go back to the park. They hope to see the stray dog again. As they look around, they spot Willy! But something is wrong. A dogcatcher is chasing after him.

The family quickly tries to help Willy. When they finally catch up, the dogcatcher says that Willy doesn't belong to anyone. The children quickly tell him that Willy does belong to them. The boy says his belt was Willy's collar. The girl adds that her hair ribbon was his leash. The dogcatcher believes them and leaves. Now, Willy finally has a loving family!
