The Tower, once known as Block 82 Tower, is a tall building in Fort Worth, Texas. It has 35 floors and stands 488 feet (149 meters) high. This makes it the fourth tallest building in Fort Worth today. When it was finished in 1974, it was actually the tallest building in the city. It held that record until 1983.
On March 28, 2000, a strong tornado hit Fort Worth. The Tower was badly damaged by this storm. Many people thought the building would have to be torn down. But instead, it was fixed up and changed into homes. Now, it is the tallest residential building in Fort Worth.
Art Inside The Tower
Hugin + Munin Artwork
In 2019, a special artwork was added to The Tower's lobby. The artist, Donald Martiny, created this piece. It is called Hugin + Munin. This name comes from two ravens in old Norse myths.
The artwork is very large, measuring 14 by 17 feet. Because of its size, the artist had to create it right there in the lobby. It is a unique piece of art for everyone to see.
