About Thomas Ashe's Life
Thomas Ashe was born on July 15, 1770, in Glasnevin, a place near Dublin, Ireland. His father was a military officer who received some money even when not actively serving.
When he was young, Thomas joined a military regiment called the 83rd Regiment of Foot. However, the regiment was soon disbanded, so he didn't stay in the army for long. After that, he went to Bordeaux, France, to work in a business office.
Later, Thomas came back to Dublin. He got a job helping with schools as a secretary for the Diocesan and Endowed Schools Commission. But he faced financial difficulties, so he left his job and moved to Switzerland.
Thomas then spent several years traveling in different countries. He lived freely and experienced many ups and downs during his journeys. In his later years, he did not have much money. He passed away in Bath, England, on December 17, 1835.
