Thomas Lawranson (sometimes spelled Lawrenson) was an Irish painter. He was active between 1760 and 1777.

In 1766, Thomas Lawranson joined the Incorporated Society of Artists. He became a "fellow" of this group in 1774. He lived in London, specifically in Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury. His son, William Lawranson, painted a portrait of him. William also made an engraving of this portrait using a special technique called mezzotint.

Thomas Lawranson showed his art at the very first exhibition of the Society of Artists in 1760. He sent a portrait of himself to this show. He continued to exhibit his work regularly until 1777. He often displayed portraits or small paintings called miniatures. In 1774, he showed a portrait that he had painted in 1783. He also created and published a large engraving of Greenwich Hospital.
