Changing His Name
In 1841, Thomas made a change to his family name. He decided to use the surname de Moleyns for himself and his family. Before this, his family name was Mullins.
This change was because his family believed they were related to a very old medieval family called de Moleyns from Burnham, Norfolk, in England. However, this connection has never been fully proven.
Later Life
Lord Ventry lived a long life. He passed away in 1868 at his family home, Burnham House. This house was located near a town called Dingle in Ireland. After his death, his oldest son, Dayrolles, became the 4th Baron Ventry.
