Tim Anderson is a famous American-British chef and writer. He won the MasterChef cooking competition in 2011. This show was on BBC One television.

About Tim Anderson

Early Life and Education

Tim Anderson was born in Madison, Wisconsin, in the United States. He grew up in Racine, Wisconsin. In 2002, he moved to Los Angeles. There, he studied the history of Japanese food at Occidental College. After he finished college in 2006, he moved to Kitakyushu, Japan. He wanted to learn even more about Japanese cooking.

Becoming a Chef

In 2008, Tim moved to London with his British wife. He started his career by managing a craft beer bar. Later, he opened his first restaurant called Nanban Brixton in 2015. He opened a second restaurant, Nanban Central, in 2019. Tim left both of these restaurants in 2021.

Books and TV Appearances

Tim Anderson has written several books about Japanese food. He also appears regularly on a cooking show called The Kitchen Cabinet. This show is on BBC Radio 4.
