The Tokyo Metro 6000 series is a special type of electric multiple unit (EMU) train. It was used by the Tokyo subway system, called Tokyo Metro, in Japan. These trains ran on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line from 1971 until 2018. After they stopped running in Japan, many of these trains were sent to Indonesia. There, they are still used today by a company called Kereta Commuter Indonesia.

History of the Tokyo Metro 6000 Series Trains
The Tokyo Metro 6000 series trains were built over many years. The first test trains were made in the late 1960s. The main production started in the early 1970s and continued until 1990. These trains were known for being very modern for their time. They introduced new technologies to subway systems.
When Were These Trains Built?
The first test train, called 6000-1, was built in 1968. It was not used for regular passenger service. The second test train, 6101, was built in 1969. It later went to Indonesia in 2016. The first group of trains for regular service started running in 1971. The last trains of this series were built in 1990.
Where Did These Trains Go After Japan?
Many of the Tokyo Metro 6000 series trains were sent to Indonesia. They started arriving there around 2011. These trains help people travel around Jakarta and nearby areas. Some trains were also taken apart (scrapped) in Japan or Indonesia.
