Tomohiro Hasumi (蓮見 知弘, Hasumi Tomohiro, born June 6, 1972) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder.

Tomohiro Hasumi's Football Journey

Tomohiro Hasumi was born in Nishitokyo, Japan, on June 6, 1972. He became a professional football player and played for several teams in Japan.

Early Career and First Club

Hasumi started his football journey in the youth team of Yomiuri. This club later became known as Verdy Kawasaki. He joined their main team in 1991. Even though he was part of the team, he did not get to play in any official matches during his time there.

Playing in the Japan Football League

In 1996, Hasumi moved to Fujitsu. This team played in the Japan Football League. Here, he finally got to play in many games. He scored 2 goals in 26 matches for Fujitsu.

The next year, in 1997, he joined Tokyo Gas. He became a regular player for this team, meaning he played in most of their games. In the 1998 season, his team, Tokyo Gas, won the championship! He played 52 matches and scored 7 goals for Tokyo Gas.

Moving to J2 League and Promotion

In 1999, Hasumi moved to Vegalta Sendai, a club in the J2 League. In his first year with Vegalta Sendai, he didn't play much. However, from the 2000 season onwards, he became a regular player again.

His team, Vegalta Sendai, did very well in 2001. They finished in 2nd place in the J2 League. This high finish meant they were promoted to the J1 League, which is the top football league in Japan!

Retirement from Football

Even though his team was promoted to the J1 League, Tomohiro Hasumi decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 2001 season. He ended his career without playing any matches in the J1 League. Throughout his professional career, he played a total of 158 league matches and scored 20 goals.
