Tomonobu Hayakawa (早川 知伸, Hayakawa Tomonobu, born July 11, 1977) is a Japanese football manager and former player. He is currently the manager of the Matsumoto Yamaga football club.

Playing Career: Tomonobu Hayakawa's Journey as a Player

Tomonobu Hayakawa was born in Shizuoka, Japan, on July 11, 1977. After finishing his studies at Juntendo University, he began his professional football career.

Starting with Urawa Red Diamonds

In 2000, Hayakawa joined Urawa Red Diamonds, a club in the J2 League. The J2 League is the second-highest division of professional football in Japan. The club was promoted to the top division, the J1 League, in 2001. However, Hayakawa did not get to play much in his three seasons with the team, from 2000 to 2002.

Success with Yokohama FC

In 2003, he moved to Yokohama FC, which was also a J2 League club at the time. Here, he became a very important player. He often played as a right-side defender or a central defender.

In 2006, Hayakawa helped Yokohama FC win the J2 League championship. This big win meant the club was promoted to the J1 League for the 2007 season. He continued to play many matches in 2007. However, Yokohama FC was relegated back to the J2 League after just one year.

Loan to JEF United Chiba and Retirement

In August 2008, Hayakawa was loaned to JEF United Chiba, a J1 League club. He didn't play many games there. In 2009, he returned to Yokohama FC and played regularly again. But in 2010, his playing time decreased, and he decided to retire from playing professional football at the end of that season.

Managerial Career: Leading Teams from the Sidelines

After his playing career, Tomonobu Hayakawa moved into football management.

Managing Yokohama FC

On April 8, 2021, Hayakawa was appointed as the manager of his former club, Yokohama FC. He led the team until December 10, 2021, when he stepped down as manager to become an assistant manager instead.

Joining Matsumoto Yamaga FC

On December 20, 2022, Hayakawa joined Matsumoto Yamaga as an assistant manager for the 2023 season. He continued in this role, helping the team from the sidelines.

Later, after the 2024 season, the previous manager, Masahiro Shimoda, left the club. On December 19, 2024, it was announced that Tomonobu Hayakawa would become the new manager of Matsumoto Yamaga. This means he is now in charge of leading the team.
