The First Top Burmese Restaurant
Top Burmese started in early 2019 as a "virtual restaurant." This means it only offered food for delivery or pick-up. You could order through apps like DoorDash and Uber Eats. Customers could also pick up their food from a kitchen in northwest Portland.
The first actual Top Burmese restaurant opened on September 19, 2019. It is located on 21st Avenue in northwest Portland. The menu has many tasty dishes. A popular item is laphet, which is a fermented tea-leaf salad. It has sunflower seeds, sesame, and peanuts. They also serve samosas and paratha with flavorful curries. The tea leaf salad is what the restaurant is most famous for.
Top Burmese Bistro Royale
Top Burmese Bistro Royale opened in Beaverton in 2020. This restaurant has a menu with some Indian-inspired dishes. A cool fact about this location is that robots help serve the food!

Top Burmese Burma Joy, also called Burma Joy Noodle House, is on 23rd Avenue in northwest Portland. It opened in 2021 and focuses on noodles inspired by Chinese cooking. In 2022, this restaurant served special Tea Leaf "Laphet" Dumplings during The Oregonian newspaper's yearly Dumpling Week.
