Tor Seidler (born in 1952 in Littleton, New Hampshire) is an American author who writes amazing books for children. Many of his stories feature anthropomorphic animals, which means the animals act and talk like humans!
His books have won several awards and honors. For example, Mean Margaret was nominated for a National Book Award. The Wainscott Weasel was recognized as a Notable Children's Book by the American Library Association. Also, A Rat's Tale was named Best Book of the Year by Publishers Weekly.
Some of Tor Seidler's books have even been turned into movies! In 1998, A Rat's Tale became a puppet film made by Augsburger Puppenkiste. It was released by Warner Bros. Family Entertainment. There were also plans to make The Wainscott Weasel into a movie by 20th Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios starting in 2003, but the project was later stopped in 2006. Tor Seidler studied literature at Stanford University.
