Tor Seidler is an American author who writes wonderful books for young readers. He was born in 1952 in Littleton, New Hampshire. Many of his stories feature animals that act and talk like people. This is called anthropomorphic.
His books have received special recognition. For example, Mean Margaret was nominated for a National Book Award. The Wainscott Weasel was named a Notable Children's Book by the American Library Association. Also, A Rat's Tale was chosen as the Best Book of the Year by Publishers Weekly.
In 1998, A Rat's Tale was made into a puppet film. This film was created by Augsburger Puppenkiste and shared by Warner Bros. Family Entertainment. There were also plans to turn The Wainscott Weasel into a movie. 20th Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios started working on it in 2003. However, the movie idea was stopped in 2006.
