The fort was built in a smart spot to help defend the area. It has three floors and a special platform at the top. This platform was used for watching out for enemies. It even has small openings for arrows and cannons! The fort is mostly made of strong stone. Many of its windows have iron bars, making it even more secure.

The Story of Torre Negra

The fort's story began in 1145. The Monastery of Sant Cugat had it built. They wanted a strong defense point in case of an attack. The first owners were the Vilanova family. They were important people who helped start the Monastery.

Torre Negra was only used in a few small fights. For most of its history, it has been owned by private families. Many rich people have owned it over the years. The inside of the fort has been updated about five times.

Today, the council of Sant Cugat wants to buy the fort. They want to protect this important historical place. They also want to help the environment around it.
