Toru Yoshida (吉田 暢, Yoshida Tōru, born May 17, 1965) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He was born in Shiwa, Iwate, Japan.

Playing Career: Toru Yoshida's Football Journey

Toru Yoshida started his professional football journey in 1984. After finishing high school, he joined a team called Furukawa Electric. This team later became known as JEF United Ichihara.

From 1986, Toru Yoshida played many games as a side back. He helped his team achieve great success. They won the 1986 JSL Cup in 1986. They also won the 1986 Asian Club Championship in the same year. This was a very special win because it was the first time a Japanese club became Asian champions!

In 1995, Toru Yoshida moved to another team called Brummell Sendai. This club played in the Japan Football League. He continued to play for them until the end of the 1997 season. After that, he decided to retire from playing professional football.

Coaching Career: Leading Teams to Success

After he stopped playing, Toru Yoshida didn't leave football. He became a coach! In 1998, he started coaching for Sony Sendai.

In September 2001, he took on a bigger role. He became the manager of Sony Sendai FC. He led the team for a few years, until 2003.

Later, in 2006, Toru Yoshida returned to his home area of Iwate Prefecture. He signed with a team called Grulla Morioka. This team played in the Japanese Regional Leagues. He managed Grulla Morioka for several years, until 2011.
