The Ministry of Tourism (Hebrew: מִשְׂרַד הַתַּיָּרוּת, romanized: Misrad HaTayarut) is an important office in the Government of Israel. Its main job is to help people visit Israel and make sure they have a great time. This means they work on things like promoting Israel as a fun place to visit and making sure there are good services for tourists.
The Ministry was started in 1964. The very first minister was Akiva Govrin. For a few years, between 1977 and 1981, it was part of another ministry, the Trade and Industry Ministry. The Ministry's logo shows a picture from the Bible: two spies carrying fruit from the Holy Land. This represents exploring and enjoying the land.
