TraxWeekly facts for kids
TraxWeekly was a popular online magazine, called an e-zine, during the 1990s. It was one of the most important e-zines for the demoscene community, especially for those interested in music. Another well-known e-zine from that time was DemoNews.
TraxWeekly focused only on music. It was the best place to find news about tracker music and big new songs or albums in the music world. Tracker music is a special type of music made using computer programs called "trackers," which let people arrange sounds and samples.
The History of TraxWeekly
TraxWeekly started on March 12, 1995, and published 119 issues until February 16, 1998. When it stopped, more than 1,100 people were reading it every week!
What Was Inside TraxWeekly?
Each issue of TraxWeekly had a strong and interesting format. It included:
- Interviews with musicians and people from the demoscene.
- Reviews of new music and software.
- Reports from major demo parties around the world. Demo parties were events where people showed off their computer skills, including music, graphics, and programming.
What Happened After TraxWeekly?
After TraxWeekly ended, another e-zine called Static Line took its place. Static Line was created by a group known as Coplan/SceneSpot and continued to provide news and information to the demoscene community.
