Trenton Lee Stewart was born on May 27, 1970. He grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In 1992, he earned a degree in English from Hendrix College. Later, he went to the University of Iowa's Iowa Writers' Workshop. There, he earned a special degree in creative writing in 1995.
Stewart's Writing Journey
Stewart's first novel, Flood Summer, was published in 2005. Two years later, in 2007, he released The Mysterious Benedict Society. This book became very popular. It stayed on The New York Times Best Seller list for more than a year!
The Mysterious Benedict Society Series
Stewart continued the Mysterious Benedict Society series. He published The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey in 2008. Then came The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma in 2009. Both of these books also became bestsellers.
In 2012, a book called The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict was released. This book tells a story that happened before the main series. It was also a bestseller. In 2016, Stewart published The Secret Keepers. This was a new adventure story for young readers. It also became a bestseller.
Recent Works and Other Talents
Stewart's latest book in the series is The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages. It was published on September 24, 2019. Besides writing books, Trenton Lee Stewart also creates crosswords. Some of his crosswords have appeared in The New York Times.
