Trezzvant William Anderson (November 22, 1906 – March 25, 1963) was an American writer and reporter. He worked as a journalist, writing for newspapers. He was also a publicist, helping people become well-known. Later, he became a war correspondent, reporting from battle zones.

Early Career and Public Relations

In the 1930s, Anderson worked as a publicist. A publicist helps famous people get attention. He helped a singer named Billy Eckstine. Billy Eckstine was just starting his music career then.

Reporting on World War II

Anderson wrote an important book in 1945. It was called Come Out Fighting. The book was about the 761st Tank Battalion. This was a special group of soldiers in the U.S. Army. Most of the soldiers in this battalion were African-American. They fought bravely during World War II.

The 761st Tank Battalion was honored for its courage. They received a Presidential Unit Citation. This is a special award given to military units. Many individual soldiers in the battalion also won awards for being heroes.

Journalism and Civil Rights

In 1947, Anderson started working for Pittsburgh Courier. This was a very important African-American newspaper. He first worked in Pittsburgh. By 1957, he became "The Courier Roving Reporter."

In this role, he traveled around the Southern states. He reported on the early days of the Civil Rights Movement. This movement worked to end unfair treatment and gain equal rights for African Americans. Anderson passed away in Macon, Georgia, in 1963.
