Roland Collins (born November 23, 1985), known as Troy Ave, is an American rapper. He grew up in the Crown Heights area of Brooklyn, New York City. His stage name, Troy Ave, comes from a street near his childhood home. In November 2013, he released his first studio album, New York City: The Album. This album reached number 47 on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In 2014, he was recognized by XXL magazine as one of their "Freshmen Class" artists.
