The Tunbridge World's Fair first opened its gates way back in 1867. That means it has been happening every year for 158 years!

Who Helps Run the Fair?
A special group of people called shareholders helps run the fair. There are 100 of these shareholders. They first bought shares in 1901 to help make sure the fair could keep going. These shares often stay in families for a long time. Each share gives a person a small part of the fair's ownership and a vote on how things are done. It's important to know that the fair doesn't make a profit for these shareholders. Instead, all the money goes back into making the fair even better each year!

After 2009, Alan Howe took over as the fair's chairman, continuing the tradition of making the fair a wonderful experience for all ages.
