Turó de l'Home is a tall mountain in Catalonia, Spain. It is part of the Montseny Massif mountain range. Standing at 1,712 meters (5,617 feet) above sea level, it is the highest point in the entire Montseny Massif. Imagine a giant's peak touching the clouds!
What is Turó de l'Home Like?
The very top of Turó de l'Home has a special marker called a triangulation station. This station helps mapmakers and scientists measure distances and locations very accurately. It's like a fixed point that helps them understand the shape of the land.
You can get quite close to the top by car! There's a paved road that goes almost all the way up to a place called Plana Amagada. You'll find plenty of parking there.
How to Reach the Summit
- The last 1,500 meters (about a mile) of the road are closed to cars and motorcycles.
- But don't worry, this part is perfect for cycling and hiking!
- From the end of the road, there's a steep path that leads you the final 50 meters (about 164 feet) to the triangulation station at the very peak. It's a great adventure for hikers!
