Tuzantán is a town and a municipality located in the southern part of Mexico. It is found within the Mexican state of Chiapas. A municipality is like a local government area, similar to a county.

Size and Population of Tuzantán
Tuzantán is a small area, covering about 64.6 square kilometers. This is roughly the size of 6,460 soccer fields!
In 2010, the total number of people living in the municipality was 28,137. This was an increase from 23,180 people in 2005.
Towns and Villages in Tuzantán
The main town, also called Tuzantán, had a population of 2,863 people in 2010.
Besides the main town, the municipality has 152 other smaller communities. Some of the biggest ones in 2010 included:
- Xochiltepec with 2,563 people. This village is considered an urban area.
- Primer Cantón with 1,477 people.
- Estación Tuzantán with 1,225 people.
- Villa Hidalgo with 1,089 people.
These last three villages are considered rural, meaning they are more like countryside areas.
