What is the Twin Cities Jazz Fest?
The Twin Cities Jazz Fest is a big celebration of jazz music. It happens every year in St. Paul, Minnesota. The main part of the festival is in the Lowertown neighborhood. This area is in downtown St. Paul.
The festival's main stage is in a place called Mears Park. But you can find other stages all over the city too! The festival even closes off some streets. This makes it easy for everyone to walk around and enjoy the music.
Where Does the Festival Happen?
Many local clubs and venues host parts of the festival. These places include the Bulldog, Hat Trick, and the St. Paul Hotel. Other spots like Mancini's, Black Dog, and Hygga also join in. You might also find music at Vieux Carre, Union Depot, and Amsterdam Bar and Grill. The Citizen Bar and Grill is another popular spot.
Who Plays at the Festival?
Many famous jazz musicians have played at the festival. These include amazing artists like McCoy Tyner and Dee Dee Bridgewater. Joshua Redman and The Bad Plus have also performed.
The festival also helps young musicians. Over 100 young artists get to perform! This happens with help from the Dakota Foundation for Jazz Education. Walker West Music Academy also supports these young talents.
