Rivers lived a normal life as a nine-year-old boy. But then, after six years, his father suddenly returned. His father's return caused a lot of tension and problems for the family. It seemed like the family might break apart.
However, things changed when Uncle Daddy became very sick with a serious heart attack. This difficult time brought Rivers and his parents together. They all worked to support Uncle Daddy and each other.
