Uned 5 (which means "Unit 5" in English) was a super popular TV show for teenagers. It won a BAFTA award, which is a really important prize for TV shows! This show was broadcast live every week on the Welsh TV channel S4C. It ran for a long time, from 1994 all the way to 2010. For over 16 years, it was the main youth show on S4C.
Sadly, on November 24, 2009, S4C announced that Uned 5 would be ending. This was part of a big plan to change the channel's shows for young people. The very last episode of Uned 5 was shown on Sunday, May 30, 2010.
What Was Uned 5 Like?
The show was filmed in a special "house" studio in Caernarfon, Wales. It was like a cool magazine but on TV! Each episode had lots of fun things for teens.
- They had famous guests come visit.
- There were news stories that mattered to young people.
- The presenters had lively chats about different topics.
- Music bands would perform live.
- They also had funny sketches and filmed interviews.
At first, Uned 5 was a bit like the BBC show Blue Peter, which is for younger kids. But later, the show changed to be more for teenagers.
