A Bit of History: How Upton Got Its Name
Upton has been a community for a long time. It even had its own post office! The post office in Upton first opened in 1907. It helped people send and receive mail for many years, finally closing its doors in 1975. The community was named after an important person who lived there a long time ago. His name was Osias Upton, and he was known as a "pioneer citizen" because he was one of the first people to settle and help build up the area.
