Uriah Bell, born on December 28, 1978, is a talented poet, writer, and publisher. He is known for starting Rising Voices Press and for being the editor-in-chief of TRUTH Magazine.


Uriah Bell's Career

Uriah Bell started sharing his writings formally in 2008. His first collection of poems was called Mood Swings. He wanted to share his personal feelings in this book. Even though he thought this would be his only book, many people liked Mood Swings. They encouraged him to keep sharing his stories and the stories of others.

In 2009, Uriah Bell started his own publishing company called Rising Voices Press. This company helps to publish and promote the writings of Black authors.

In 2010, Bell released his second poetry collection. It was titled Epiphany: Poems in the Key of Love. This book explored different kinds of love. It talked about love within a community, love between two people, and loving yourself.

His third collection of poems, Mood Swings: poems and other rants, came out in 2011. It was also published by Rising Voices Press.

Uriah Bell's Community Work

Uriah Bell is also very active in community work, especially in helping to educate people about HIV/AIDS. In 2011, he became a fellow with the Black AIDS Institute's AAHU Community Mobilization College. This group works to create campaigns. These campaigns help to bring the Black community together. Their goal is to learn about and help end the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Bell has spoken at many events both in the United States and other countries. He has led discussions about HIV/AIDS in the Black community. He also talks about living with HIV/AIDS and how to cope with a new diagnosis.

Uriah Bell has held important roles in various organizations. He was the chairman of the board for the Hispanic Black Coalition. He also serves on the board of directors for Fire and Ink. This is a non-profit organization that supports writers of African descent. He is also involved with Shades of Pride / Triangle Black Pride in Raleigh, North Carolina.
