Usta, South Dakota facts for kids
Usta is a very small place in the state of South Dakota, in the United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes or buildings that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Usta is located in Perkins County and can be found along South Dakota Highway 73.
History of Usta
The community of Usta was planned and started in 1931. In the same year, a post office was opened in Usta. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail. Having a post office was very important for small communities like Usta, as it helped connect people. The Usta post office stayed open for about 11 years, closing down in 1942.
