History of Utvängstorp Church
Utvängstorp Church was built a very long time ago, in the late 1100s. That means it is over 800 years old! It is made of stone, and its outside walls are painted white.
Changes Over the Years
Just south of the church, there is a special bell tower. This tower was built in 1735. In 1838, the church had a big makeover. They added a new choir area to the east and a new room called a sacristy, which is where priests prepare for services.
Later, in 1960, the inside of the church was fixed up and made to look nice again. Then, in 1989, the church had another major renovation to keep it in good condition.
