Víctor Claver Arocas is a famous Spanish basketball player. He was born on August 30, 1988. Víctor played as a Power forward or small forward. He was even the team captain for Valencia in Spain. He also played in the EuroLeague, which is a top European basketball league. Víctor Claver stopped playing professional basketball in 2024.

Víctor Claver's Basketball Journey

Starting with Valencia (2006–2012)

Víctor Claver started playing basketball when he was young. He played for his school's youth teams in Valencia, Spain. He made his professional debut with Valencia in the 2006–07 season.

He first played in a big European competition called the EuroCup in 2007–08. He even won this competition with Valencia in the 2009–10 season.

Víctor also played in the EuroLeague, which is Europe's highest level of club basketball. This was during the 2010–11 season. He scored about 10.9 points and got 4.9 rebounds per game in 14 games.

Playing in the NBA (2012–2015)

The Portland Trail Blazers picked Víctor Claver in the 2009 NBA draft. He was the 22nd player chosen overall. On July 12, 2012, Víctor signed a three-year contract with the Trail Blazers.

He also spent some time playing for the Idaho Stampede. This team is part of the NBA D-League, which helps players get ready for the NBA. He played 80 games for the Trail Blazers over three years.

In February 2015, Víctor was traded to the Denver Nuggets. But he was released by the Nuggets just a few days later. He did not play any games for them.

Playing in Russia (2015–2016)

After leaving the NBA, Víctor Claver moved to Russia. He signed with BC Khimki in March 2015 for the rest of that season. He left Khimki in July 2015.

Later, in September 2015, Víctor signed a one-year deal with another Russian team, Lokomotiv Kuban. He played for them during the 2015–16 season.

Back to Spain with FC Barcelona (2016–2021)

On July 20, 2016, Víctor Claver signed a three-year contract with FC Barcelona Lassa. This was a big move back to Spain. He extended his contract with FC Barcelona in 2019. He stayed with the club for five years. In July 2021, Víctor officially left FC Barcelona.

Returning to Valencia (2021–2024)

On July 13, 2021, Víctor Claver signed a new three-year deal with Valencia. This meant he returned to play for his hometown team again.

On July 1, 2024, Víctor Claver announced that he was retiring from professional basketball.

Playing for Spain's National Team

Víctor Claver has played a lot for Spain's national basketball teams. He won bronze medals with Spain's junior teams. These were at the 2006 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship and the 2008 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship.

He also played for the main Spain men's national basketball team. With the national team, he won many medals:

  • Gold medals at the EuroBasket 2009, EuroBasket 2011, and EuroBasket 2015.
  • Bronze medal at the EuroBasket 2013.

Víctor also played in the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. He competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where Spain won a silver medal. He also won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
