Meet Vaisakhan, whose real name is M.K. Gopinathan Nair. He is a famous Indian writer from Kerala. He writes short stories, plays, and even movie scripts! As of 2016, he was the President of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi, which is a big group for writers in Kerala.
Vaisakhan's stories are special because they are easy to read and always have fresh, new ideas. Many of his stories take place around the Indian Railways, like trains and stations.

About Vaisakhan
His Early Life and Journey
Vaisakhan was born in 1940 in Muvattupuzha. His parents were A.V. Krishna Kurup and Narayani Amma. He went to college at Maharaja's College, Ernakulam, Nirmala College, and St. Albert's College.
In 1964, Vaisakhan started working for the Southern Railway (India) as a station master. After working there for 20 years, he decided to retire early. He wanted to spend all his time writing.
Vaisakhan was married to Padma, who passed away in 1998. They had three children: Praveen, Pradeep, and Poornima. Today, he lives in Paravattani, in the Thrissur district.

One of Vaisakhan's most famous works is Noolpalam Kadakkunnavar. This story has won many awards and is loved by many readers. He has written many other books too!
