Van Cleve is a small place located in Maries County, Missouri. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's not an official city or town with its own local government.
The first Van Cleve was found on Road 222. It was planned out like a town. Later, the post office and the name of the town moved. They went about a quarter-mile past Carnes Branch, off Highway 133.

A place for sending and receiving mail, called a post office, was opened in Vancleve in 1880. This post office helped people send letters and packages for many years. It stayed open until 1930.
