Vasiliy Mikhailovich Peskov (born March 14, 1930 – died August 12, 2013) was a famous Russian writer, journalist, and photographer. He was also a traveler and someone who cared deeply about nature, known as an ecologist.

Peskov started working for a big Russian newspaper called Komsomolskaya Pravda in 1956. He wrote many articles and took many pictures for the newspaper.

From 1975 to 1990, he hosted a popular TV show called "In the World of Animals." This show taught many people about different animals and their habitats. It helped people learn more about nature and why it's important to protect it.

Awards and Recognition

Vasiliy Peskov received several important awards for his work. In 1964, he was given the Lenin Prize, which was a very high honor in the Soviet Union.

In 1990, he was also recognized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). He was named one of the winners of their Global 500 Roll of Honour. This award celebrates people who have done great things for the environment.

His Later Years
