Vealmoor, Texas is a small town located in Howard County, Texas, in the United States. It is a quiet community with a unique history.
History of Vealmoor
How Vealmoor Started
The land where Vealmoor now stands was bought in the 1880s by a man named C. C. Slaughter. This land was part of his very large property, known as the Lazy S Ranch.
In the early 1920s, C. C. Slaughter's children, Robert Lee Slaughter, Dick Slaughter, and Minnie Slaughter Veal, worked together with a developer named William P. Soash. They formed a company called Lone Star Land Company. Their goal was to create a brand new town, which they named Vealmoor. By 1926, the town was growing, and it even had its own post office, which is where people send and receive mail.
Population Changes Over Time
Over the years, the number of people living in Vealmoor has changed. In 1966, about 190 people called Vealmoor home. By the year 2000, the population was 179 people.
