Verónica Fernández Echegaray (born on June 16, 1983), known as Verónica Echegui, is a talented Spanish actress and director. She first appeared in movies in 2006 in the film My Name Is Juani. Since then, she has acted in many films like My Prison Yard (2008), Kathmandu Lullaby (2012), and Family United (2013).

Verónica has also starred in popular TV shows. These include Fortitude (2015-2017) and Intimacy (2022).

In 2020, Verónica Echegui directed her first short film, Tótem Loba. This film was a big success! It won the Best Short Film award at the Goya Awards in 2022.

Verónica Echegui's Early Life

Verónica Fernández Echegaray was born in Madrid, Spain, on June 16, 1983. Her father was a lawyer, and her mother worked for the government. When she was eight years old, Verónica dreamed of becoming an actress. Her parents hoped she would choose a more traditional job.

However, Verónica followed her heart. She moved to London to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. While she was studying, she also worked as a waitress.

In 2009, Verónica also appeared in the British film Bunny and the Bull. She played a waitress in this funny and unusual road trip movie. She acted alongside famous British comedians like Noel Fielding.

In 2012, a film critic named Craig Mathieson praised Verónica's acting. He mentioned her roles in different movies. In Six Points About Emma, she played a confident blind woman. In Half of Oscar, she was a quiet sister. And in Kathmandu Lullaby, she played a passionate teacher helping children in Nepal.

In 2020, Verónica starred in the musical comedy My Heart Goes Boom!. She played a character named Amparo. Her performance earned her another Goya nomination. In the same year, she won the Gaudí Award for Best Actress for her role in The Offering.
