His Time in the Military
Mr. Lattimore began his military career in 1979 when he joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve. This is a group of people who are ready to serve in the Air Force when needed.
Later, he became an assistant to the main chaplain for the Air National Guard at a place called Headquarters Air Combat Command. A chaplain is a religious leader who provides support to military members. In 2003, he became an assistant to the top chaplain for the entire U.S. Air Force. This was a very important role, helping to guide religious services for all airmen.
During his time in the military, he received several important awards for his service. These include the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Outstanding Unit Award (which he received with a special "valor device" for bravery), the Air Force Longevity Service Award for his long service, and the Air Force Training Ribbon.
