Vicente Boix facts for kids
Vicente Boix y Ricarte (born April 27, 1813 – died March 7, 1880) was a talented Spanish writer. He was a playwright, a poet, and a historian. He came from a town called Xàtiva in Valencia, Spain.

Famous Books and Plays
One of his well-known books was El encubierto de Valencia. He wrote this in 1852. This book was based on the life of a mysterious person known as El Encubierto. This rebel claimed to be the true king of Spain, saying he had been hidden away.
Earlier, in 1845, Vicente Boix wrote a big history book called Historia de la ciudad y reino de Valencia. This book came out in three parts.
Collections of Poetry
Vicente Boix also published his poems in two volumes. These were called Obras poéticas and came out in 1850 and 1851. The first volume was Poesías históricas y caballerescas, which means "Historical and Knightly Poems." The second was Poesías líricas y dramáticas, meaning "Lyrical and Dramatic Poems."
A much larger collection of his best works was put together in a book called Obras literarias selectas. This book was published in 1880.
