Vicente Verdú (born October 23, 1942 – died August 21, 2018) was a Spanish writer, journalist, and economist. He was known for his thoughtful articles and books.

Vicente Verdú studied sociology and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Paris. He also spent time at Harvard University as part of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism. This program helps journalists learn and grow.

He worked for several important magazines, including Doblón, Cuadernos para el Diálogo, and Revista de Occidente. He also led the opinion page for El País, a major newspaper in Madrid. There, he often wrote his own articles. He also had an online blog where he shared his thoughts.

In 1997, Vicente Verdú won two big awards for his journalism. He received the González-Ruano Prize and the Miguel Delibes National Prize. Both were for an article called "La vista sorda," which was published in El País. He lived in Madrid for many years.
