A Viennetta dessert

Viennetta is a yummy ice cream dessert. It's made by a big company called Unilever. You can find it around the world under different brand names. The classic Viennetta has cool, wavy layers of ice cream. Thin layers of chocolate separate these ice cream waves. You can enjoy Viennetta in many flavors, like vanilla and mint.

How Viennetta Started

Viennetta first came out in 1982. A British ice cream company called Wall's created it. Kevin Hillman, along with Ian Butcher and Gordon Stewart Carrick, invented the special way to make its famous layers.

They used a clever method to create the wavy look. Ice cream was squeezed out onto trays moving on a belt. The ice cream came out faster than the belt moved. This made the ice cream bunch up, creating a wavy or "concertina" effect. It looks a bit like an accordion!

For a long time, a famous ad slogan in the UK was "one slice is never enough." People still remember it today!

In 2007, Viennetta turned 25 years old. To celebrate, they made a super long Viennetta! It was 22.7 meters (about 74 feet) long. This amazing dessert set a world record for the longest ice cream!
