In the 2000s, Vijayakanth continued to act, though he also started getting more involved in politics. He starred in films like Vaanathai Pola (2000), which was a big hit, and Ramanaa (2002), where he played a professor fighting corruption. His 150th film was Arasangam in 2008.

He also made special appearances in some movies, like Maayavi (2005) and Sagaptham (2015). His last film was Thamizhan Endru Sol in 2017.

Beyond Acting: Producing Films

Besides acting, Vijayakanth also helped produce films through his company, Captain Cine Creations. He worked with his brother-in-law, L. K. Sudheesh, to make these movies. Producing films means helping to fund them and making sure they get made.
