Viktor Anpilov (Russian: Ви́ктор Ива́нович Анпи́лов; October 2, 1945 – January 15, 2018) was a Russian politician and trade union leader. He was known for his strong belief in communism. Anpilov was born in Belaya Glina, a town in the Krasnodar Krai region of Russia.
He joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1972. Before becoming a well-known politician, he worked as a journalist for the Soviet Union in Latin America.

In 1990, Viktor Anpilov was chosen to be a candidate for important government positions. These included the Congress of People's Deputies and the Moscow city Soviet. After the Soviet Union ended, Anpilov became the leader of a political group called Labour Russia.

During a difficult time in Russia in 1993, known as the Russian constitutional crisis, Anpilov was a leader in protests against the president, Boris Yeltsin. Later, in 2007, he took part in the Dissenters March. This march was organized to protest against the policies of President Vladimir Putin.
Later Life and Legacy
Viktor Anpilov passed away in Moscow on January 15, 2018. He was 72 years old. His death was caused by problems from a stroke.
