Vivien Mary ap Rhys Pryce (born November 1, 1937) is a talented British sculptor. She is known for creating large public artworks, like beautiful fountains. She has also designed special medals and trophies. Vivien is a respected member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors.

Vivien ap Rhys Pryce was born in Woking, a town in Surrey, England. She began her art studies in 1955 at the City and Guilds of London Art School. Later, she continued her training at the Edinburgh College of Art.

Vivien was very good at her studies and won a special scholarship in 1957. She received more awards in 1961. In 1964, she was honored with the Feodora Gleichen Award from the Royal Society of British Sculptors. She became an Associate member of this important society in 1965. By 1972, she was elected a Fellow, which is a high honor.

In the early 1960s, Vivien shared her artistic skills by teaching art at the Elmhurst Ballet School. She also worked as a lecturer at Twickenham College of Technology from 1970 to 1972. Her sculptures have been shown in many art galleries, including the Jonathan Poole Gallery. She has also regularly displayed her work at famous places like the Royal Academy in London. Her art has also been seen at the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and the Royal West of England Academy.

Amazing Public Sculptures

Vivien ap Rhys Pryce has created many artworks for public spaces. She designed special medals and trophies for sports events. This includes awards for the 1969 John Player Cricket League and the Players No.6 Rugby League Trophy.

Some of her biggest and most beautiful works are fountains. In 1988, she created the Minoprio Fountain at the University of Exeter. A year later, in 1989, she designed the lovely Rose Garden fountain. This fountain is located on the Nymans estate in West Sussex. You can also find an example of her artwork at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
