The WWE Women's Tag Team Championship is a special award in professional wrestling. It is like a trophy that two wrestlers can win together. This championship is owned by a big wrestling company called WWE.
This title is unique because it is for both of WWE's main TV shows. These shows are Raw and SmackDown Live. The very first champions were a team called The Boss 'N' Hug Connection. This team included two famous wrestlers, Bayley and Sasha Banks. They won the championship at an event called Elimination Chamber in February 2019. This championship is different from an older one called the WWF Women's Tag Team Championship.

How the Championship Started
This section explains how the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship was created. It tells you about the important dates and events that led to its first champions.
The Idea for a New Title
On December 24, 2018, something exciting happened. The boss of WWE, Vince McMahon, made a big announcement. He said that a new Women's Tag Team Championship would be created in 2019. This meant that female wrestlers would have a new goal to work towards. They could team up and compete for this special title.
Showing Off the Belts
On January 14, 2019, the new championship belts were shown to the world. This happened on the Raw TV show. A wrestler named Alexa Bliss revealed what the belts looked like. She did this on her talk show segment called "A Moment of Bliss." Everyone got to see the shiny new championship belts for the first time.
The First Champions Are Crowned
After showing the belts, Alexa Bliss explained how the first champions would be decided. She said there would be a special match called a tag team Elimination Chamber match. This match would include six teams. Three teams would be from Raw and three teams would be from SmackDown.
The winning team would become the first-ever WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. The Boss 'N' Hug Connection, made up of Bayley and Sasha Banks, won this big match. They beat several other strong teams to become the champions. These teams included Nia Jax and Tamina, The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan), Carmella and Naomi, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, and The IIconics (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay).
