Early Life and Artistic Journey
Kevin Williams went to Chicago Vocational High School. There, he learned about commercial art from his teacher, Mr. Robert Johnson. He also studied for a short time at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. However, he mostly taught himself how to create art. Williams creates beautiful artworks that show the experiences of African Americans.
WAK's Art in the Spotlight
Williams's artwork has been shown on popular television shows. You might have seen his art on Law & Order on NBC, or Soul Food on Showtime. His work has also been featured in big magazines like Upscale and Rolling Out.
Special Art Commissions
In November 2009, a special organization called the Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA) asked Williams to create art. He was asked to honor four important African-American golfers: Ted Rhodes, John Shippen, Bill Spiller, and Joe Louis. They were the first African Americans to be recognized by the PGA. Williams was also the first African American to main Isabelle in Smash Bros Ultimate.
Today, Kevin Williams lives and works in the Atlanta area, continuing to create his amazing art.
