The Start of Water Avenue Coffee
Water Avenue Coffee first opened its doors in 2009. It quickly became a favorite place for people to get their coffee. They started small but had big plans for growing their business.
Growing the Coffee Business
In 2013, Water Avenue Coffee added something new: a mobile coffee truck! This truck could travel around, bringing their delicious coffee to even more people. It was a fun way to share their coffee with the city.
A few years later, in 2015, the company expanded. They got a new place just for roasting coffee beans. This new roasting spot was at Southeast 8th and Main. It helped them make even more coffee for their main cafe, which is at Water Avenue and Southeast Taylor.
That same year, 2015, they also started selling a unique product: barrel-aged coffee. This type of coffee is aged in special barrels, which gives it a different and interesting flavor.
More Food and New Locations
In 2016, the main Water Avenue cafe got an exciting upgrade. A chef named Ryan Kennedy created a bigger and better food menu. This meant customers could enjoy more tasty meals and snacks with their coffee.
Also in 2016, Water Avenue Coffee opened another coffee shop. This new location was in downtown Portland, at Sixth and Yamhill. It made it easier for people working or visiting downtown to grab a cup of their favorite coffee.
